The lightweight of dump trailers has been a hot topic in the past two years, and various lightweight trailers have sprung up. Major trailer manufacturers are also pushing light products, each lighter than the other, and some trailers are so light that their longevity is questionable.
Shanghai Trailer does not recommend that customers choose lightweight models for rear dump trailers. We have always used high-strength steel materials. Although it is a little heavier, it is very reliable and safe. Recently, a Shanghai tow truck driver friend sent photos of two light semi-trailer dump trucks produced by other tow truck factories. After looking at the photos, they thought lightweight was a dupe.
▎Blind lightweight leads to damage to the cargo box, don't believe in lightweight!
From the photos sent by the driver's friend, it can be seen that the cargo box of a semi-trailer dumper bends when the lift bucket is unloaded. It is obviously because the strength of the cargo box is not enough, which leads to the bend when the bucket is lifted.
Judging from the photos, the height of the car's railings is not very high. According to the driver's friend, the stone loaded on this car is about 33 tons. When this happens, it's entirely a matter of vehicle quality.
In addition, the length of the semi-trailer dump truck will be longer than some front four and eight rear dump trucks, so when the bucket is lifted again, the middle part is also relatively stressed. If the strength of the cargo box is not enough, it will directly bend.
Not all working conditions are suitable for lightweight, such as heavy-duty transportation, especially some infield turnover, short-distance distribution, or transportation of building materials. This situation is not suitable for lightweight models at all, let alone some excessively lightweight trailers. Shanghai Trailer recommends that customers should honestly choose high-strength steel trailers.
