Generally speaking, when buying a trailer, you should have already purchased or determined the brand and model of the main vehicle, that is, the tractor. Then the trailer factory will match and design a suitable trailer based on the tractor model and parameters you submitted. But sometimes you may buy a stock car in order to cash out the car or you may have been deceived. Then you may buy a trailer that does not match your tractor. The following editor will tell you about the main reasons. Several must-know parameters of our tractor in hitch matching.
The definition of the rear turning radius of the tractor: refers to the distance Rc from the center of the traction pin hole of the tractor saddle to the farthest point of the rear end of the tractor on the horizontal ground projection point.
Measurement method of rear turning radius Rc of tractor
1.First park the tractor on a hard, flat surface;
2.Use a steel measuring tape measuring more than 3 meters to measure the farthest horizontal distance from the center hole of the saddle to the rear end of the frame.
Design purposes and precautions for the rear turning radius of the tractor
1. The rear turning radius Rc of the tractor is one of the three important design and must-report parameters in the main-hook matching design;
2. The rear turning radius Rc of the tractor determines the cross-section size of the trailer's gooseneck and the front and rear layout dimensions of the outriggers;
3. Considering drop-and-hook transportation, the rear turning radius Rc of the tractor is generally not greater than 2200mm;
4. Generally, the smaller the rear turning radius Rc of the tractor, the easier it is to match the main hitch and design the trailer;
5. When the tractor's rear turning radius Rc parameter is too small or the matching is too large, there may be interference and collision between the tractor's frame or rear-end components and the trailer;
6. When the tractor is designed to match the trailer, in order to ensure that the main hitch does not interfere, the horizontal distance between the rear end of the tractor and the gooseneck section of the semi-trailer must be greater than 100mm.
