For longer semi-trailers and semi-trailer drivers who are not particularly skilled in driving skills, how to park in a narrow place is a problem worthy of attention. However, as long as you master a little skill and practice frequently, it will no longer be difficult to park a semi-trailer.
We divide the parking of semi-trailers into two situations, one is roadside parking and the other is parking in a parking lot. Relatively speaking, parking in a parking lot is simpler. As long as you master the turning angle, it is easier to park the car in the parking space. Roadside parking is more troublesome because the road is relatively narrow and there are many motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians, and the road conditions are more complicated. In this case, the owner is prone to nervousness and it is difficult to master the essentials of parking. Even if someone is directing, there are often car owners who go up and down on the edge of the parking space and cannot park the car smoothly.
We divide the driving skills of semi-trailers in parking lots into the following four steps:
1. Turn the steering wheel to the right about one and a half circles while moving slowly forward, and when the right front wheel crosses the outer line of the parking space by 1/31/2, turn left quickly.
2. When the front of the semi-trailer approaches the rear of the front vehicle, put the semi-trailer in reverse gear, turn the steering wheel to the right to reverse, and when the curb is no longer visible in the right rearview mirror, quickly turn the steering wheel to the left to the limit and continue to reverse.
3. When the left side of the rear of the vehicle is aligned with the left front corner of the rear vehicle from the left rearview mirror, turn the steering wheel and stop the vehicle. At this time, your car is basically in the rear of the parking space, even if it is not straight, it is not far away, and there is still a certain distance in front.
4. Drive forward slowly and adjust the angle of the steering wheel to park the car in the middle of the parking space, leaving a certain distance between the front and the back.
Finally, I will tell you three points to pay attention to when parking a semi-trailer on the roadside:
First, pay attention to the motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians behind during the reversing process.
Second, never park in the opposite direction, otherwise you will most likely receive a traffic violation ticket.
Third, no matter which method you use, you must pay attention to the speed of the wheel return process to prevent the right rear side or right front side of the car from rubbing against the left front side of the rear car or the left rear side of the front car.
The above is a summary of the skills and precautions for semi-trailer parking in parking lots and narrow places on the roadside, for reference by the majority of semi-trailer drivers, I hope it will be helpful.
